Dual Spec'ing Arcane and Fire

[:1]I was wondering what the mage communities' general opinion was on a good stat setup for mages who like to switch b/w arcane and fire. I've been playing around with simc a bit and my current setup seems to have pretty good output in both specs, but I feel like it could be better. I'm sure there are plenty of others who run both specs as I do, so if any of you has any thoughts on ways to increase both specs dps feel free to leave your input! (and yes I know I should get the +65 mastery enchant for my gloves I just never seem to get around to it when I have the maelstrom crystals on me <_<)

Use it. I dual spec arcane/fire and swap regularly. Only costs me 100g and ReforgeSaver automatically does it for me so it's pretty quick to switch.

You'll never get optimal DPS if you try to use the same gear for both specs, but if you insist you'll probably want to prefer crit over haste for fire since crit is slightly below haste for fire whereas haste is terrible for arcane.
Thanks for the addon! And yeah I'm not trying to get optimal dps just a nice balance so I can be competitive with both. I've been playing around some more and you're correct crit seems to be the best choice for reforging to do both, only a 100-200 dps less than the my optimal builds for them.
fwiw, I dont reforge any pieces, although I do swap out a few trinks, and still get high dps as arcane with mostly fire mage gear. and by high, I mean, higher in fights that arcane is suited to over fire in pve.

naturally, twitch's strat is the way to go for min/maxing, but I found raid members don't want to wait when you're farming BoT or BD to go back to town between bosses.
Just maximize Arcane IMO.

On the few fights that you want to be fire, you should have a MUCH bigger portion of your damage coming from your dots.

This inflates the value of mastery a bit more then what rawr/simc show by default.
I just blew some extra VP/gold/mats on a spare set of gear and reforged that to suit my offspec. I min/max my arcane set and have 5 pieces that I swap in for frost. It's not 100% optimal for frost but close enough that RNG and player skill will have a larger determination than the exact stats will.

So long as you have hit cap and aren't switching between item that have different amounts of int, the reforging won't result in a big manner. Load up rawr and set every piece reforged to mastery, then reforge everything to haste. The difference won't be large
