I didn't dig too deep to see if there were any threads on this, but I never really made a mage til now. (only lvl 15 so far) But is frost still the way to go when leveling?
I am pretty new to mage myself but I have been leveling frost and it has been great in both pve and pvp.
Ya, Frost is an all around good spec, but once you get to 30 you might want to go frost/fire becasue fire is great for dungens and raids, its OK for leveling but fire sucks in pvp till 85, unless you know how to play it right.
Frost lost one of its major advantages in the awesome blizzards it used to give you for dungeons, but it's still the way to go in the early levels mainly because you'll wanting to be casting frostbolt + freeze a lot to avoid taking damage from melee mobs.
After you get mage armor and nether vortex (level 68) I would think Arcane is the best levelling spec.
