I've narrowed it down to Goblin and Orc seeing as on my main server I have a Blood Elf Mage and Undead Mage. Troll isnt an option, I cant get into them no matter how hard I try. And with that being said I seek the help of anyone who would hear my plea.
Im not telling you to pick my race for me, I just need some constructive criticism concerning my choices thus far. After trying out the races to level 5 I have thought about it hard and come to the conclusion that I love the way female Orcs look in cloth gear but dislike the males. I cant get over the huge shoulders. The downside to Orc for me was the casting animation. I can get past that because thats what they made savory deviate delight for if it becomes too big an issue.
Concerning Goblins I have striclty decided to stick with males because I already have a female Goblin as my main on my main server. The server I am currently on is my alt server to try out new race/class combos. With that said the male Goblin casting animation is nice to me and gear looks nice on em. My only deal with them...well...their racials tend to be behind other Horde races in terms of PvE and thats my focus is PvE but with PvP when I can.
With this wall of text out of the way, and you all getting a good idea as to what it is I am looking for, I ask you all to please giving me advice on what I should do. I really need help because this is really bothering me. I have an OCD type of personailty and I want to do it right the first time and not want to regret my decision 50 levels down the road.
I have literally deleted 80 and 85 toons because I didnt like certain things about em just to reroll. I wish to avoid this. Thanks for your patience and reading my text.
TL;DR - Female Orc or Male Goblin for a mage.
Orc Mages UNITE!
I think our buff shoulders are a huge advantage-- definitely the most intimidating looking mage till they make Tauren Mages.
The SP Buff is nice and it makes for bigger burst phases, but if you wanted the Min/Max answer its obviously human because Human racials> everyone else for every class ever.
The haste boost for Goblins is pretty solid, but you are basically a green gnome with no facial hair. . .
if ur doing competetive high lvl play in pve or pvp ud want orc for the berserk buff. the haste buff from the gob doesnt give the same advantage. I myself selected gobby because i love the rocket jump, its like a 2nd blink and it saves me alot.
Don't forget the goblin jump can be used while silenced. Garrotted in a Smoke Bomb? Gob Jump. Strangulated? Gob Jump. See a predictable stun incoming (Kidneyshot, Throwdown, etc.)? Gob Jump.
Not to mention just using it to gain distance for a variety of reasons, LoS'ing damage or getting into LoS of a heal.
Thank you all for some very nice responses.
I definately wouldnt mind a Goblin for sure but what I am trying to do is not make the same mistake I did on my main realm. That being pretty much every class I rolled was a Blood Elf. I want to avoid making the same race twice and I already have a Goblin Hunter so I might as well go Orc for my Mage. I didnt discover the other wonderful races' full potential till I made Awai here a Tauren. Ever since I enjoyed the other races, except Troll. I have my reasons, painful reasons.
None-the-less thank you all. I believe I shall be going with the Female Orc. They look really awesome and I can get past the casting animation. After all I got used to Undead and I dislike Undead casting animations....well male that is.
Now on to the dilemma of coming up with a female Orc name.
World of Warcraft names....the bane of my time here. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy coming up with good and original names. Take Awai here for instance. I am part Indian myself, Cherokee. His name is actually a word from my language translated into Tauraje.
Gnome.
Gnomes make Horde angry.
Gnome.
Gnomes make Horde angry.
This is correct :(
Gnome.
Gnomes make Horde angry.
Not true. I r luv gnomies!
And alot of horde like gnomes. They can make great footballs.
Not the best basketballs though, they tend to cling to the hoop. Makes it pretty hard to actually score....and even harder getting the "ball" back down...
